DEBBIE ELLZEY

My name is Deborah Ellzey, and I was born on October 8, 1954. I have
lived in Hammond all of my life and married my husband, Mark, in 1974.
We have two sons, Timothy and Joshua, and seven grandchildren.

I graduated from Southeastern in Hammond  in 1975 with a B.A. in
Elementary Education. I went on to receive a M.E.+30. I taught in
Tangipahoa Parish for forty years and retired in 2011. I have been LSU
Football season ticket holder for 50 years.

In February, 2019, I began coughing a lot. My throat was very sore and
felt really inflamed. The symptoms only got worse over the next eleven
months. I had a bronchoscopy done in January, 2020. My diagnosis is 3A
lung adenocarcinoma. I am currently receiving chemo and radiation
treatments at Ochsner in Baton Rouge.
