Josh Gomez

I was diagnosed with AML. Acute Myeloid Leukemia about 1 month ago. This was caught in a routine physical. I was lucky because I had no symptoms and am unusually young for this diagnosis. I have been at MD Anderson in Houston being treated. I underwent 5 days of chemotherapy and am currently going into MD Anderson every other day for labs, consults and treatment.

We are a family of 4 with my wife Elizeh and our 2 daughters Berlin (13) and Bella (9). Berlin and Bella are in the 8th and 4th grade at St George.

I am a Regional Vice President with Transamerica selling corporate retirement plans to businesses in LA, MS and AL. When not working or chasing my girls around I enjoy sports, fishing, cooking and all things LSU football. I am active in the St George Men’s Club and giving back to our community.

Berlin is involved in cheerleading and volleyball and has recently been accepted to Saint Joseph’s academy where she was one of 15 girls in Baton Rouge named as a finalist for a scholarship her freshman year.

Bella is actively involved in dance and her passions are music, art and technology.

Elizeh has been staying home raising our girls until recently she went back out into the workforce pursuing her passion.  She is working with Distinctive Homes and collaborating on interior design
